Catherine Turner has taught college students for more than 20 years. She received her B.A. in History from Smith College and M.A. in American History from the University of Rochester. Shortly after finishing her graduate work, she moved to the United Kingdom and taught at Universities in Sheffield, Swansea, Reading, and Sunderland.
When asked what courses have made an impression on her as a professor and academic, Catherine Turner listed the class "American Women in a Global Perspective," which examines the roles of women here in America and across the globe. The class is particularly significant to Professor Turner because: "Looking back into our history we can appreciate how much progress has been made and what issues continue to divide women here and abroad."
