Story about a young Mexican-American murdered in Los Angeles in August of 1942. Tension had been building up for years between Mexican and white Los Angelenos. "Zoot-Suiters" is what the press used to refer to the clothes worn by the young Mexican youth who were terrorizing the city with a rave of crime. 600 "zoo-suiters" were arrested. Seventeen went to trial and were convicted with little or no evidence.This sparked riots between servicemen and the Mexican American community
