Examine the color lines outside of the south with rarely seen, personal testimony by Jesse Jackson, Andrew Youong, and others who survived the times. In chicago, Martin Luter King, Jr. and his Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) face off with Mayor Richard Daly over segregated housing. In Detroit, tensions explode and more than 100 cities share the pain of racial violence. A presidential commission warns that America has become "two societies, separate and unequal."
