2. Weekly Schedules

  1. Edit the document title to include your last name. For example:  "(Last Name) Schedule"
  2.  Using the "share" button, turn "link sharing" on for anyone at Appalachian State and share with historyeducation@appstate.edu. You will share the same link each week on your AsULearn page, do not make a new schedule each week.
  3. Update your schedule doc each week and repost the same link to your AsULearn page each week.  Schedules should be turned in each week of student teaching and uploaded to AsULearn.
  • This video provides step-by-step instructions
  • Examples of a completed schedule (PDF file), and one on an A/B day [Email us if you need help with your particular schedule format]
  • Schedules should be turned in each week of student teaching and uploaded to AsULearn no later than Friday for the upcoming week.

3. EDTPA! edTPA Curriculum Templates (Unit Map and Lesson Plans).

edTPA Template

ALL History/Social Studies Education student teachers must use our edTPA template.

Unit Map & up to Five (5) ONE-DAY Lesson Plans (plus Cover Sheets) / Google Doc VersionFor edTPA, you must address the purpose and rationale in a separate commentary. All submissions must meet the range of 3-5 lessons. If you don't need 5 lessons, delete 1-2 blank lesson plans and cover sheets
Unit Map & up to Five (5) TWO-DAY Lesson Plans (plus Cover Sheets)/ Google Doc VersionIf you have a mix of one- and two-day lesson plans, simply delete the "Day 2" section as needed in this version
  • Unlike the normal student teaching version, which runs horizontally, this edTPA version runs vertically. All edTPA requirements are addressed in this version.
  • Your edTPA submission cannot exceed 20 pages total. Aim for 2-3 pages per ASU History Dept. Lesson Plan + one-page RCOE Lesson Plan overview. That's a total of 3-4 pages per lesson.
  • You cannot exceed 4 pages per lesson (RCOE lesson overview + History Dept. lesson plan).
  • We recommend keeping the Unit Map at the end for edTPA readers; however, cut it out if you design 5 lesson plans and reach 19-20 pages.
